Teachers Training Seminars

This year's turn of events took us to Bayelsa State where we started a new area in our ongoing programs for rural education - 'Teachers Training Seminars'. Being the Bayelsa is predominately a riverine State, teacher had to travel long distances by boat to participate in this three-day event.

The object of the seminars was to focus on practical methods such as communication skills, character development, and building self-esteem rather than fundamental academics; to inspire motivational teaching in the classroom, thereby leading them to absorb and have more efficient and effective educational techniques

The teachers not only left with helpful advice and a new outlook on teaching, but were also given a certificate, seminar gifts, and booklet with keynotes from the classes.

These initial seminars are the starting point for our more concentrated focus on grass-roots educational programs - thus making a difference for the future of Nigeria's children.
